During a classic episode of operator error, I lost this post on my original website. Here it is again.
Many scholars believe that the writer of Ecclesiastes was a very jaded King Solomon, who lost faith in God and became disillusioned with life. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
The author was actually a later descendant of Solomon who won renown with man and God for his unusual wisdom and ability. He may well have been considered even more righteous than King David himself in God’s eyes.
Of course, nobody is perfect. Let’s just say that he didn’t hold back on praising himself and his ability. Who was this man? Was he really down on life? Why is this book in the Bible, anyway? Find out in Ecclesiastes: A Word to the Wise, Demystified.
