About Us

Although I once belonged to the organization formed by the late Herbert W. Armstrong, I recognize that there were serious flaws in both his theology and methods (both theological and pastoral), which I now see as having been coercive, intentionally inducing a state of unthinking submission to his authority and that of his organization. Because of this  background I have embraced a philosophy of respect for diversity of belief among Christians and the broader Christian community.

I believe that the whole Christian life is a relationship with God which includes living and communicating with fellow human beings.  For this reason I have deliberately made our “sermon time” in our small house church a conversation in which we talk about our Lord Jesus Christ and his grace for us over a cup of tea or coffee or juice.

Since 2020 we have been meeting most Saturday mornings at 11:00 in our home near Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.  If you wish to join us for a service you can email or phone with the information below. There is also a way to join us online if you prefer. We can supply the details if you wish.

There are no paid clergy. Lay coordination of this group is provided by me, Wayne Hart and the community as a whole.  I can be reached at (306) 347-0101 or wjvalade@sasktel.net. We are not always home, and we also do screen calls, so it is best to leave a message if we do not answer right away.

While I try to be careful not to be heretical or biblically unsound, I am also human and therefore fallible. My posts are always subject to correction and/or clarification by people who know Theology and the Bible better than I do. For this and other reasons, the opinions expressed on this site are best checked against the Bible and/or the words or writings of competent Theology or Biblical Studies professionals.

Having posted the disclaimer above, I do have a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Briercrest Biblical Seminary in Caronport, Saskatchewan, which is accredited by the Association of Canadian Theological Schools. When you see something here that disagrees with what churches you are familiar with teach, it is not because I have not studied the subject deeply from the same sources as other theologians and church historians.

I do not always agree with my alma mater in all aspects of doctrine, but will always explain how I have come to my conclusions. I am also open to discussion with those who disagree with an open heart and mind.
